So one of my friends have suggested to use Home Energy Monitoring System (OHM Assistant). They say it will help me monitor electricity consumption of all my appliances. Also it’ll help to save on electricity and electricity bill. I am bit confused, whether to opt for it or not.
Any suggestions?
Hello Anamika. It sounds like you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to installing solar panels or an energy monitoring system. I have a solution. I always recommend gaining insight into how you are using energy before spending money on energy systems. You can do it yourself. There is no need to purchase systems like OHM. Please read Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of my article series “How to save energy at home.” You’ll find the 3 articles under the “Learn” menus item on energyforums.net. Using the methods described in the articles and a $35 Kill a Watt meter that you can buy from Amazon will give you the insight into what appliances and devices in your home are using energy without spending big dollars on an energy monitoring system. Let me know if you have any more questions. You can do it!
