Yes! It is quite feasible to make your own solar panels if you are comfortable building a frame, mounting and wiring the photovoltaic cells and installing the system. You can find inexpensive cells at Alibaba.com or eBay. Using higher quality parts will result in a longer life panel. Cost will increase if you embed the cells in a protective silicon compound and use tempered glass for strength, but done right, you should get over 20 years life from a panel. Check out YouTube for some creative and great ideas to get started.
